Order Picker Forklift Part - Order preparation operation or likewise called order picking as it is more normally known is a method used within warehouse operations and comprises workers known as order pickers. The order picker's task is to take and collect articles in certain quantities so as to fulfill the client's orders before shipment. Order picking is a simple warehousing method. The effectiveness in which this particular task is done could be directly linked to the productivity of a supply chain. Hence, order picking is amongst the most controlled logistic methods. Order picking falls within the category of the warehouse management system.

There are several certain types of order picking. The main types consist of: pick to box method, wave picking method, piece picking or picker to part method, zone picking method and sorting systems method.

The pick to box method comprises the order picker filling the box with the items from his or her station. The box then moves to other picking stations until the client order is finish. In this process, there is no movement of the order picker personnel. In the wave picking method, the order pickers move around to be able to collect the needed things for several orders. The picker to part method or piece picking is similar where the order pickers or picker move in order to gather the items required but for one order only.

In the sorting systems method, there is no movement of the order picking employees. Instead, the stuff are delivered to her or him via an automated system like for example a conveyor system or an automatic storage. In the zone picking method, each order picker is assigned to one specific zone. They are responsible for only realizing order picking within this particular area.
